A properly stained deck is protected, looks great, and is ready for years of use. Brush Brothers cleans, preps, and applies top quality penetrating stain to every Pea Ridge deck — railings, balusters, and stairs included — backed by our 1-Year Guarantee.
NWA’s wet springs and hot summers put consistent pressure on exterior wood. Deck surfaces absorb moisture every time it rains, and without a quality protective stain, that moisture works into the wood grain and starts the process of warping, splitting, and rot. A deck that looks cosmetically rough is often one wet season away from becoming a structural problem.
We use top quality penetrating stains from Sherwin-Williams and Benjamin Moore on all Pea Ridge deck jobs. Penetrating stain absorbs into the wood fiber and protects from within — unlike film-forming paints and solid stains that sit on the surface and eventually crack, peel, and trap moisture underneath. The result is a deck that’s protected, easy to maintain, and holds its color for 3 to 5 years before a refresh is needed. Last Updated: April 2026.
Six steps from first call to final inspection. The prep determines how long the stain holds.
We inspect the full deck — decking boards, railings, balusters, stair treads, and stringers. We note current coating condition, any damaged boards, and provide a firm quote. No surprises after we start.
We power wash the entire deck to remove dirt, algae, mildew, and old coating residue. We follow with a wood brightener treatment to open the wood grain and restore pH balance — this improves stain penetration and color evenness significantly.
If the deck has a failed film coating (peeling paint or solid stain), we remove it before applying penetrating stain. Film coatings must be fully stripped — applying penetrating stain over a film coating produces a short-lived, uneven result.
Rough boards and splinters are sanded smooth. We allow adequate dry time after washing — typically 48 hours minimum. Applying stain to damp wood is the most common DIY mistake and produces a blotchy, short-lived result.
We apply top quality Sherwin-Williams and Benjamin Moore penetrating stain to all surfaces — decking boards, railings, balusters, and stairs. We back-brush into every board seam and end grain section to ensure full penetration, not just surface coverage.
We walk the completed deck with you before packing up. We address any touchups on the spot and let you know the recommended maintenance window so you can plan ahead.
Pricing is quoted after an in-person inspection. These ranges reflect real jobs in Pea Ridge and across Northwest Arkansas.
The biggest pricing variable is the condition of existing coatings. Decks with failed paint or solid stain require full removal before penetrating stain can be applied — this adds prep time and labor. Decks with no existing coating or a previous penetrating stain in fair condition sit at the lower end of the range. All quotes are firm.
Our 5 Google Rating reflects the standard we hold on every job — upfront pricing, clean jobsites, no surprises.
If anything fails in the first year, we come back and fix it at no charge. No invoices, no back-and-forth. This applies to every deck staining job we do.
We’ll tell you what the deck actually needs — including if boards need attention before staining makes financial sense. We’d rather lose a job than set you up for disappointment.
We use top quality Sherwin-Williams and Benjamin Moore penetrating stains because they’re the right products for this climate. 25+ years of experience means we don’t shortcut the product selection.
